Ecorche Drawings: Pelvis, Shoulder Girdle, Skull/Rib/Pel combo

Two views of the Pelvis
graphite on mylar, 8 1/2 x 11 inches
More studies for my Ecorche Anatomy class with Andrew Ameral. Two solid studio days of just drawing bones, what fun!

I'm also continuing to refine my clay figure, but it's coming along very slowly! I have massed in my ribcage, pelvis and spine, but I won't bother to post photos till they are more developed. Will hopefully post some photos of a prettier skull this weekend.Shoulder girdle studies

Studies of Skull, Ribcage, Pelvis relationships

Most these drawings are copies from anatomy books (sometimes composites from several), only the pelvis drawings are from life.

these drawings are lovely sadie! wish there was something like this where i live, i would love this. i like the mylar will have to try some drawings on it, lends nice character to them.
Really gorgeous drawings Sadie. I am inspired. I just might have to get some mylar, pencils and get serious. I am looking forward to the paintings you do after all the anatomy studies.
Hi Sadie. Thank you for posting these drawings and sharing your studies. The class must be wonderful! What a great experience!
Hi! I'm a new visitor to your blog and love your drawings for the beautiful line quality! How do you get such crisp images of the drawings? Do you scan or photograph them??
Hi Bea, thank you! I photograph the drawings and then clean them up in photoshop. Scanning would probably work better, I have to fiddle a lot in photoshop to get them to look like the originals.
