Ecorche - Pelvis Drawings

Posterior and Anterior views of the pelvis, graphite on mylar, 8.5x11 inches, done for Andrew Ameral's Ecorche class
I have to do 5 by tomorrow, I'm still working on the other 3.... this Friday night will be spend at the studio!
The real human pelvis I bought at the Bone Room is great to have, much easier to see the forms than when looking at the anatomy books. But it's a bit tilted/twisted (the poor old lady must have had a hard time walking at the end of her life!) so I draw from a combination of the books and the real specimen.

That's an old pelvis you have.
I have one from an adolescent male.
I have a dis-articulated box of bones that I bought years ago.
I could never get it put together.
Anyway the pelvis I have is tiny compared to yours.
My poor specimen died very young and he has a few broken bones which healed funny.
I forgot to add the drawings are looking real nice.
I use Denril which is a kind of vellum Mylar product sometimes.
I am curious why you are asked to use this material? Is it to make layers for the muscles later?

I just use the mylar because I just discovered it, and it's my new favorite drawing surface! I love that it gets such a huge range of values out of graphite, and also is incredibly receptive to the lightest touch.
