The other thing I noticed was that your work is pretty original, or maybe I mean it stands out.

There are a lot of very competent painters on the site. I can tell who studied with Angel and Collins and so on. Nothing wrong with that, but your painting was very different in so many ways; composition and the sparseness compared to some of the other still life's. Very original.

Thanks Jeff, always nice to be seen as original :) I didn't study at an atelier, I assembled my education from lots of sources, that's probably why my work looks different.

Well, I'm a portuguese painter and I'm searcing the blogs looking for places with interesting art, and, by luck I discovered here, your space...

Splendid! Art for me is this kind of realistic things you do...by a matter of fact, on my blog there's a little discussion taking place on the comments pages about the need of a renewal in the actual art scene.
